Characteristics

1. Energy Recovery Ventilation for 50 Apartments

The London residential project covers 50 apartments, with one MENRED S5 Energy Recovery Ventilator installed in each dwelling. This apartment-by-apartment configuration provides a repeatable residential ERV solution while allowing every apartment to operate with its own dedicated ventilation unit.


2. Rated Airflow for Ducted Apartment Ventilation

The S5 provides a rated airflow of 350 m³/h and a maximum airflow of 400 m³/h. These figures describe the product capability of the MENRED S5 and support its use in ducted apartment ventilation. The commissioned airflow used in the London apartments has not yet been provided.


3. H11 and G4 Air Filtration

The S5 uses an H11 filter on the fresh-air side and a G4 coarse filter on the return-air side. According to the S5 product specification, the filtration system provides 99% PM2.5 filtration efficiency, helping reduce the entry of fine airborne particles through the mechanical fresh-air supply.


4. Enthalpy Energy Recovery

A non-porous membrane energy recovery core transfers heat and moisture between the incoming and outgoing air streams without mixing the two airflows. Published S5 product data states heating and cooling enthalpy exchange efficiencies of 70.4% and 58.7% respectively. These are product specifications rather than measured London project results.


5. Slim Ceiling-Mounted Installation

With a 230 mm slim body, the S5 is designed for ceiling-mounted, ducted installation. In this project, one unit is installed above the ceiling in each apartment, helping integrate the ventilation equipment into the residential interior while retaining a dedicated system for every dwelling.


6. Air-Quality Control Capability

Air-quality control is included in the confirmed project solution. The S5 supports RS485 integration and compatibility with PM2.5 and CO₂ monitoring and control. However, the controller model, sensor model and actual control sequence used in the London apartments have not been confirmed.


7. Twin Inverter Fans and Adjustable Static Pressure

The S5 uses twin inverter fans for the supply- and exhaust-air paths and provides adjustable external static pressure. These product capabilities support adaptation to different duct layouts, although the actual pressure settings and duct resistance for this project should only be added after commissioning data is available.
