Liu Series Buffer Tank

Liu Series Buffer Tank Liu Series Buffer Tank

Liu Series Buffer Tank
The MENRED Liu Series buffer tank is a pressurized thermal storage solution built for residential hydronic heating. Two models are available: the 60-litre Liu60.2 and the 100-litre Liu100.2. Each tank pairs 0.8 MPa pressure-rated operation with 50 mm integral molded foam insulation, dual safety protection, and a slim vertical body. The result is simple. Your heating system runs steadier, cycles less, and lasts longer.

The Liu Series is designed for heat pump heating systems, radiant floor heating, and whole-house hydronic loops. It connects directly to the primary circuit and buffers pressure and stores thermal energy for the whole loop, making it a natural fit for villas, apartments, energy-efficient homes, and WUHENG climate comfort systems.

Stable Operation, Less Heat Pump Cycling

Short cycling wears out compressors. The buffer tank solves this at the source. By storing heated water between demand peaks, the Liu Series absorbs pressure fluctuations, smooths out flow, and gives the heat pump longer, calmer run cycles. Fewer starts and stops mean lower energy waste and a longer service life for the main unit. For a home heating system, this tank is not an accessory. It is a necessity.

50 mm Integral Molded Foam Insulation

The entire tank body is wrapped in a 50 mm insulation layer formed by integral molding. The foam sits tight against the steel with no gaps, no seams, and no thin spots. Heat retention stays uniform across the full surface, so stored thermal energy is held in the tank for a long time instead of leaking away. Less standby loss translates directly into lower running costs.

Pure Thermal Storage: No Coil, No Electric Heater

The Liu Series contains no internal heat exchanger and no electric heating element. This is deliberate. A pure storage-and-buffer design has fewer failure points, delivers more stable performance, and costs less to own over its lifetime. The pressurized BTC340R inner tank, 1.8 mm thick, handles continuous 0.8 MPa operation with a shared φ370 mm inner diameter across both models.

Dual Safety Protection

Two independent devices guard the tank. A temperature and pressure relief valve (rated 0.75±0.05 MPa, set at 99±5 °C) releases excess pressure and heat automatically. An air vent valve, fitted as standard, purges trapped air from the circuit. Together they keep the tank inside its safe working envelope at all times. A magnesium anode is also included from the factory to protect the inner tank against corrosion.

Multi-Port Design for Flexible System Integration

Every connection you need is already on the tank:

Circulation inlet & outlet: G1-1/2″ female (≈DN40) on the Liu60.2; G2″ female (≈DN50) on the Liu100.2 for higher flow rates.

Water fill port & drain port: both G3/4″ female, ready for a G3/4″ external-thread drain valve (optional).

Temperature probe port: the sensor seats securely inside a dedicated thermowell.

Air vent port & magnesium anode port: both devices fitted as standard.

T&P relief valve port: relief valve available as an option; a discharge pipe routes released water safely away.

Users connect only the ports their system requires. Installation stays clean and fast.

Core Advantages & Benefits

The Liu Series buffer tank delivers six core benefits for residential hydronic heating:

Energy Saving: thick uniform insulation keeps stored heat in the tank, not in the plant room.

Protection: reduced compressor cycling extends the working life of the heat pump.

Stability: buffered water volume steadies supply temperature and system pressure.

Buffering: thermal mass bridges the gap between heat generation and heat demand.

Drainage: a dedicated drain port allows sediment flushing and easy servicing.

Air Venting: the standard air vent removes trapped air that would otherwise cause noise and corrosion.

Installation & Maintenance

Relief valve discharge: install the discharge pipe on a continuous downward run, in a frost-free location, open to the atmosphere.

Drain valve: fit a G3/4″ external-thread drain valve at the lower side port; route wastewater away from walls and walkways.

Routine check: lift the relief valve lever every 3–5 months (depending on local water quality) and confirm water discharges freely.

Temperature sensor: always insert the sensor fully into the thermowell during installation.

Extended absence: shut off the water supply before long trips; the system has overheat protection, so short absences need no power-down.

Warranty: one year on the complete tank, three years on the inner tank.
