In cooling mode, chilled water flows through the hydronic pipes integrated into the panel.

The panel surface is cooled and absorbs heat from surrounding surfaces, people and other internal heat sources through radiant heat transfer. Heat is then carried away by the circulating water and transferred to the heat-rejection or refrigeration system.

Unlike conventional air-conditioning terminals that mainly cool the room by circulating air, radiant panels use the building surface as part of the heat-transfer system.

The result is a more uniform indoor temperature with little air movement and no direct cooling draft.
