Radiant cooling does not inherently cause condensation, but condensation can occur if the panel surface temperature falls below the indoor air dew-point temperature.

This is an important design consideration for radiant cooling, particularly in hot and humid climates.

A properly designed system therefore needs to consider:

• Indoor relative humidity
• Indoor air temperature
• Dew-point temperature
• Chilled-water temperature
• Panel surface temperature
• Ventilation and latent-load control

The goal is to keep the radiant surface temperature above the indoor dew point during normal operation.
